Yesterday capped off a beautiful week with sunny skies & 80 degrees – perfect! Today, not so much. Tim and I jerked awake around 3:30 am when it sounded like gravel was pelting our bedroom window. I thought for sure it was hailing, but nope. It was just rain being blown around by the 40+ mph wind. Such a lovely way to start the day. Thankfully we stayed ice-free because the rain stopped before the temps dropped below freezing – my friends up in DFW weren’t so lucky. By this afternoon it was in the high 20s – 15 with wind chill. Picabo & I made it maybe 5 minutes out there. You know it’s freaking cold when she’ll actually wear the Longhorn fleece I made her.
Usually she wrestles it off before we even get out the door. She just stood there shaking for a few minutes and then raced me back to the door. The next few days are going to stay cold & windy – there’s even a chance for snow Thursday night. It’s supposed to be back in the 60’s by the weekend though so I think I’ll make it through. Ü
On a sidenote, I have to share some funny pics from when I made her that fleece back in November. My mom gave me the fleece when we were in Utah – leftover from some cute pumpkins she had made. One afternoon I pulled it out to make Picabo’s jacket. She is a freak when it comes to fleece (loves it!) and snatched the piece I wasn’t using & took off running with it. Later that night Tim was in our room laying on the bed watching tv and yelled at me to come check her out. She was laying on his legs under her stolen scrap of fleece with her nose sticking out. Now that’s not that unusual because she’s a nosy butt & has to know what’s up.
But her bum hanging out, now that’s just funny! Ü
