5-1-2013 I can't believe it's been over a year since my last post. What a slacker - yeesh!! Ü All I can say is...get ready for Update-A-Palooza!!! I'm going to get caught up by posting all the photos from the last year or so first and will then go back and journal each entry later. Ü

It’s that crunchy time of year…

Cooler temps, crunchy sidewalks (acorns!), Halloween, Thanksgiving, football – boy do I LOVE this time of year!  Tim and I have really been enjoying the cooler weather.

Here are some pics of our outing back in September atop Mount Bonnell

Second highest point in Austin

Looking out over Lake Austin portion of the Colorado River – the Texas Colorado River not THE Colorado River

Downtown skyline

Not too bad for a “self-timer” shot, eh??

Some of the ‘dinky’ homes along Lake Austin

You can walk along this path and take in different views of the Lake

After we were done at Mount Bonnell, we drove around some of the neighborhoods near there and came upon Mayfield Park and Preserve

This is part of the preserve.  There are trails that lead down to Lake Austin.

I LOVE the Spanish Moss

Here’s a closer look

Tim waiting patiently for me to take all my pics

In the Park, there’s a cottage, several ponds, flower beds, etc.  Oh, and I can’t forget about the peafowl!  Check it out…

Lily pond

If you look close at this one, you can see the little fishies swimming around

There were pink & yellow flowers too

This is a cast iron pond

loved the details of it

Mr. Peacock

Mrs. Peahen and her cute litte Peachick.  NO, I’m not making that up – that is officially what they are called.  Well except for the Mr and Mrs part.

The chick was really cute – the hen would walk around and when she would stop & peck at the ground, the chick would run over and peck at the ground too.  Not sure if he/she was really getting anything but it was pretty cool to watch it mimic it’s mama.

There's so much more but my camera battery died after only a few shots.  I will be going back soon to take more!
